so far so good! It looks like the suggestions and comments in the app store are mostly constructive for once as well.

Tried it, but I was just getting the SMS. The actual PF Voicemail+ program never did anything but keep giving me that stupid pop up message. Ended up utilizing youmail instead.

I haven't tried youmail yet so I can't give you a comparison but it was rather easy for me setup wise however the sms is freaking annoying seems to be the main complaint from everyone who is using it....

Works fine for me, barring the SMS issue. I'm guessing that takes them out of your SMS pool, and probably the forward to an outside VM service probably takes minutes out of your bucket too. Hopefully future releases will address the SMS issue.

An option for personal greeting would be good too.

Yeah it certainly would.... I can't find it but there are those who say they have already... the other thing I would like now having used it for a day is allowing the caller id or you to export your contacts so you see names instead of phone numbers and I have to tell you the sms is still getting to me if I uninstall that will be the reason...

There have been some posts regarding this being free in the app store so I went to the source according to customer service they are not charging and do not intend to for this service or app however extended features in the future will be.... They also state that extra charges from t-mo may apply so according to t-mo (depends on plan) i am fine so... I sent an email just so I could get it in writing to t-mo and Phone Fusion and they are not charging....

I looked at this and then found out it was this or youmail. Youmail e-mails me the MP3 of the voicemail, so I get the caller, number, and actual voicemail e-mailed to Gmail and pushed down to the phone.

I get it visually through Gmail and all my voicemails from here on out get stored in Gmail. I can't really ask for more. Now I don't even get that annoying New voicemail notification that doesn't go away unless you actually check your voicemail.

I just got a vm from my mom and at the top of the message it said "Mom", which obviously came from my Contacts. I don't think it did that yesterday so maybe they changed it? I didn't update the app on my end though so I don't know how they did it.

I don't really see the point if I get a notification from voicemail and a prompt for it why the sms? hopefully they fix that or make it so I can turn it off....

I just installed it and tested it out. So far, I'm impressed. I like the way it displays your voice mail in the app with information about the caller taken from your contacts. Plus, you can save and email any voice mails that you want through their web site.

Of course, I have the same complaint that everyone else has about it: the SMS message that comes along with the notification. It's a small complaint though, since I can easily over look that when I think about all the rest of this app and service offers. Though it would be nice if Google (or whoever) could fix that.

And if anyone has any sound issues with the phone when you first install the app, just reset the phone. I did that and everything works great.

Now, a question: Is there any way to listen to voice mails through a Bluetooth headset? I select "Headset" under "Change Output" and it doesn't work.

I wish I could help answer that man but.... As much as I like this app I have been having issues the last 2 days it has not been sending the voicemails to my phone but it is receiving them and I can listen on the internet... I emailed them to see if it was on there side they said uninstall then re-install on the phone and it should work, not only did it not work but I lost the voice mails that I did have on the phone from the previous installation..... So I emailed again and this time their response was and I quote "are you still using the same account and phone number" that was their answer for tech support, so I uninstalled we'll have to see if they email me back with a real answer before I consider re-installing it...

Well I got a better answer today and what they said basically is I am receiving the voicemails but they are getting stuck in the que that sends them to my phone they also said if I do not receive the text message the program it self WILL NOT WORK.... what a shame... that app had a lot of potential truley liked it but I just don't need these headaches!

Here is the email sent to me today:

Dear user;

If your settings online are correct; that your O/S for the Voicemail Destination cell phone is set to Android, and you are ONLY getting the test text messages from your account online, you have set your account up correctly.

Unfortunately, we have found an issue with text messages not going to the phone devices with our text messaging carrier. We are working on fixing the issue you are experiencing.

Since you are not getting the text messages; the application will not work correctly. We will send a follow up email once we have an update from our carrier.

Please do not forward your calls to us unless you don't mind checking them online at http://fvmplus.phonefusion.com

Ok, they fixed the problem with the que so it is working and re-installed but to my surprise I got another email from a tech who obviously can't read so here is what they said AFTER the problem was fixed... GOD there tech support SUCKS!

It is likely your micro SD card was not in the device prior to installation if you are experiencing the following errors:

 You are being asked to register and you have already.
 You are only getting text messages from PhoneFusion beginning with (PFMA:)
• And are not getting the messages to the application
• Or when you run the application you are asked to register or it shows you have no messages.

If you have already installed the FVM + application; follow these steps to fix your issues.

• Uninstall PhoneFusion Voicemail +

 Before you install the application again; MAKE SURE your micro SD card is in the device.

• Then; go to the Android Market and reinstall the PhoneFusion Voicemail +

 After the installation is done; the application will ask you to register.

 ONLY IF YOU ARE ALREADY REGISTERED
• Select cancel
• Leave you self a test voicemail message

 IF YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED
• Click on Ok
• Then enter the requested information
• When you are done; leave yourself a test voicemail message

After you have left yourself a test message; you should get 2 notifications (a text message beginning with (PFMA:) and then a notification that the application received a message). Click on the 2nd notification and FVM + should open correctly.

-----------------------------
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have forwarded busy/no answer calls to us;

 and the application was not installed correctly
 Or you have uninstalled the program and not reinstalled it.

The FVM + application will not have your messages. All your messages can be found online.

To log in to your account, please visit http://fvmplus.phonefusion.com and enter your login and password. Your FVM + login begins with (1011). Your password is your 4 digit code. If you don't have your password; use the 'forgot password' link at this site to retrieve it.

Remember that you can find most answers in our FAQS here or at http://blog.phonefusion.com

We are closing out your ticket because these steps should help you. If you are still experiencing an issue please submit a new ticket or email to cservice@phonefusion.com

About the sms messages thing, that email response got me thinking. I'm no programmer but since the messages are required for the program to work, it sounds like the app is using the sms thread stored in the phone as a database. Rather than connecting to their server or whatever, it is merely reading the messages that have been received and listing the info they contain. Does that make sense? If that's true, then there is really no way to not get the sms's and still have the app function.

Like I siad, I'm no programmer, but from that email it sounds plausible.
