You could root your Magic and happily run a Android 2.0 ROM on it now if you don't want to wait

Forgive my noobness but I'm pretty new to htc and the android platform. Is there a 'how to' located in the forums where I could find out just how to go about rooting my Magic and where I can find an alternative OS version? Interested to see what an update could bring to my phone?

Sorry for the duplication but this the response I put in another thread that's applicable here......

Read the guides such as the wiki on the cyanogenmod website to see how to root.

Then install any ROm suitable for your hardware start by looking here.....
