Voice dialer problem, Incredible 4GSupport

My HTC Incredible 4G has a unique problem, that did not occur on either a Thunderbolt or Rezound...there is no way to place a "Voice Dialer" widget on my home screen...Verizon has no idea what to do...

If you go into "settings" and then "apps", click "all" and scroll to the end of the alphabet and you will find "Voice Dialer"...but the screen only allows you to "force stop" or "disable"...you cannot do anything with it...

I spent 1.5 hours at Verizon last Friday, and they spent the time on their tech support, and they had no answer, except to say that HTC has made a serious software error, placing it in the phone but not allowing accessibility...

Do you folks have any thoughts?

Oh, I tried 4 different 3rd party apps, but none of them work...they all search the Google database, when HTC Voice Dialer is supposed to search just my phone directory...so, on a 3rd party app, if I say "call home" I get a screen with 10 different spelling choices as it searched Google, and I am only supposed to pull up 1 or 2 choices if it only searched my own phone directory...

I find it hard to believe that they forgot to make this a functional voice dialer, considering how important voice dialing is, eyt it seemd they screwed up badly...

    Thanks for any help...

There's no Voice Dialer widget but you can put a shortcut on one of your homescreens the usual way. Long press on a blank spot and choose the Voice Dialer app.

    * I take that back. It doesn't work with Sense. It works fine with GO Launcher.... That's really strange.

** Voice Recorder isn't visible under Sense either.

I use the Google search bar. It uses the voice dialer.

But the Google search bar searches Google, and is not restricted to searching just my phone directory...thanks for your thoughts, but the Google search bar is worse than none at all, that is why HTC's voice dialer should be the one to use

It looks like you have to use an alternative launcher to get to Voice Dialer. Then you lose the Sense widgets. I use APW Widgets. Apex and Nova launchers are popular but I still like GO. It's really easy to switch between launchers with one of the home switcher apps. I use Home Switcher for Froyo but there are others.
