Help Voice to text missing

Hi all

My new unbranded desire with 2.2 is missing the 'voice to text icon from its keyboard? Any ideas why this is?

Also when I press and hold the search button for voice, it always takes me to the internet. I can get the navigation software to open by saying navigate to destination. Are there certain words that must be said in order to do things?

Just press and hold the search button if you want to do a voice search,check this out for what to say etc

Nice one. Just tried this. When i say call *name* it always calls home regardless of what name I say.

Perhaps you need to change the language settings,

Press Menu -> Setting -> Voice Input/Output -> Voice Recognizer Settings -> Language -? set to English (Generic)

Yes, its set to this. Other commands such as map work ok. Others like text to, go straight to a google search. I am using the voice search that was pre installed, is this an older version?

Is this something to do with why it is missing from the keyboard
