Anyone else have a loose volume rocker, it actually moves around a bit without me even touching it. It doesnt change the volume settings or anything(unless i press the button) but it does make a sound when I move the phone around. It's kind of annoying.

Hmm perhaps your volume rocker is faulty. Mine is quite secure.

Best way to test it is to just shake your phone and listen to the rocker to see if it makes a noise, I'm about to call Verizon and see if I can get a replacement. I just dont want to call and complain about something that might be more common than I'm thinking. I just checked a Samsung Rogue and it also has a loose volume rocker.

My volume rocker is loose as well. Took it in to Verizon today, but they no longer had any Fascinates left in stock so we couldn't compare to see if all the phones had this issue.

I'm gonna take a trip down and check as well. Pretty sad that they would overlook the fitment of these things like this. I hope my suspicions are wrong.

I noticed that last night. Was shaking it around holding different parts of the phone till I found the rocker to be at fault. Not a terrible thing, but kinda annoying.

mine is loose too, noticed it right after I got home with the phone. My kids all have Samsung Rogues and they have the same issue. Easily fixed with a thin piece of paper slid next to volume rocker, leave it sticking out a bit and tuck it under the back cover. Not noticeable and fixes the problem. If it gets worse I guess we have a year to return it.

Yeah I took a trip down to the verizon store and it seems to be a very common problem. From what I saw there are varying degrees of how loose it can be, that is purely based on your luck. Too bad that samsung chose to overlook the fit and finish of these buttons.

Mine didn't do it too bad until I opened it to change the SD card. After that I heard it rattle around sometimes when I moved the phone...

What worked for me is that I took off the cover again and gave the case a slight flex/bend (kinda near the volume area) then put the case back on securely. Completely took away the rattle. Seems this is mostly a back cover issue perhaps.

Mine is pretty tight, only sounds a tiny bit loose if you tap it very lightly, no wiggle though.

I did the same as one of the posters above.

    1. Take battery cover off
    2. Find a thick piece of paper, look for something dark in color (advertisements etc are normally done on thicker paper).
    3. Cut a 1/4"x1/4" piece and slip it in between the volume rocker and phone, I'd suggest putting the paper in the middle so it doesnt bias the feel of the rocker button to one side or another.
    4. Bend the piece of paper back a bit and trim so you have a little lip left for removal purposes.
    5. Put Battery cover back on and make sure that the paper is not visible.

    Problem solved.

Interesting. I suppose at the end of the day anyone can do whatever they want to with their own device

It is the easiest way to fix the problem and costs literally nothing. I've been to Verizon and complained, but I received very reluctant service and then got denied an exchange since so many phones have this problem. The fix above makes the button feel like it was suppose to feel out of the factory.

Mine isn't as loud as the others I saw in the store. I don't like the fact that I have to improvise on my device to make it the way it should be. My original fascinate had ZERO play in it.

Yeah in your PM I did say I here something but I assume thats to be expected on something which does rock or toggle. Since I never shake my phone by my ear the faint sound does not bother me. I do actually use the volume rocker and again it is solid there is no wiggle or whatever we wanna call it. But yes if you put me in a corner I will confirm I hear a sound in the area of the rocker when I vigorously shake the phone. Maybe it is a design flaw. I'm just glad mine doesnt wiggle

Fair enough. I believe mine doesn't wiggle when normally touched but does make that noise when shook.
