Want to buy a droid....

I want to buy a droid on ebay but i do not want to spend alot of money So I am looking for ones that are "broken" and seeing if they are easy fixes. I found one that says it wont load up and here is the message it gets. Tell me if this is an easy fix or if the phone is not worth it.


When the phone turns on all you get is a load screen.

The screen states,
Bootloader
2c.6c
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
DATA CABLE

sounds like you would just need to add a rom now. Easy fix??

Sounds like it needs an sbf file flashed. But could have other issues.

I got that, I had to do an RSD recovery, and after that it worked well

Ok jfe what does that mean? lol So if I buy this I should have no problem then fixing it? Says its in perfect cosmetic condition and has clean esn. I realy want a droid! I am sick of my ERIS!

Obviously no one can guarantee anything but based on the info given it sure sounds like using rsd lite to flash back ot 2.0 should work.

that is the price with a new 2 year contract. They are 519.99 new.

As someone else mentioned...we obviously can't say that there isn't some other problem with the phone. However, it sounds like you should be able to flash new rom onto it and be good to go.

Any reason you don't want to sign a 2-year contract? I'm not a huge fan of contracts, but in this case it seems like the cheapest, safest, route to go. No guarantee the "broken" phone on eBay can be fixed.

as everyone else has said it may or may not be fixable. If you can get it cheap I say go for it. Its worth a shot. If you cant fix it with RSD Lite and a 2.0.1 sbf then you can always resell it.

My biggest question for the seller if I were you would be if the water damage indicators are still intact and if so can a picture of both of them be provided. I have heard of droids with water damage being stuck on the bootloader

He probably signed a two year contract last November or later after the Eris was released.

I just asked for water sticker pictures and the esn number to just make sure. I did just uprgade to the eris in march because of the $79.99 price I wish I would have waited for the incredible or just bought the droid in the first place but i was being cheap!
