I hope I'm not alone in this (then someone could know the answer). I have noticed my stock HTC weather app will not automatically update any more.

I noticed it after the update HTC sent out (don't know if they are connected, just trying to give all the facts). I have stopped and started the Incredible, activated and re-activated the widget numerous times.

After going into settings and turning on auto updates I can back out and go back in and it is not checked. I can't get it to activate and stick.

    help!!

Go into Settings->Accounts & Sync and make sure the Auto-sync box is checked. I was having the same problem and that seemed to fix it.

thanks irishpride...I was having the same issue but the excellent 'auto-search' thingy-ma-jig when replying to a post flagged up your reply...tried ticking it and hey presto..success.

I'd unticked it due to similar concerns that pikappetapi022 has....will it be a 'battery-drainer'??

LOL....I don't know about you two, but I know I was still in the 'WM' frame of mind on that one. I spent years thinking sync was just the act of syncing your PPC with a PC via Activesync, and would never have made the connection of sync applying to any app/feature that automatically updates or syncs with other services.

P.S. Willie Heckerslyke....auto updates will affect battery use, but if you only update at lengthy intervals (3 hours or more) the usage should be minimal between charges (in a normal 18 hour day that is still only 6 quick updates). The real usage comes into play if you set updates for every 10 minutes or so. I keep mine at 3 hours and my battery has really done well lately. The way I think of it is this....if worse comes to worse and you have auto updates set and find yourself in a position to not be able to charge for a much greater amount of time than your used to, you can always switch them off until your back on your normal charging schedule.
