UDPATE 2:50PM EST: Well it IS the 23rd now, and no word from Verizon or Google yet. A member here has posted that Verizon has a presentation in about 10 minutes though, so we're still holding out!

Tomorrow's a big day for the Nexus One, as it's highly speculated (and nearly confirmed) that Verizon will release the phone tomorrow at the start of the CTIA conference. Personally, I'm really excited, because I've been waiting for it to be released so I can upgrade my phone!

How about you guys? What do you expect of the VZW version of the N1? I ultimately expect it to be near-identical to the GSM versions, just with a CDMA chip (oh, at the least, I HOPE it's like that :p ).

So let's hear it. How do you guys feel / what are you guys hoping for with tomorrow's supposed launch?

(Also, this is my first post here on AF!)

welcome and enjoy! i think the N1 release might get screwy. have they decided how many stores are getting and how customers are receiving them?

Thanks! I've been lurking the forums for quite a while, but I finally decided to get involved today. Haha.

As far as I know, it's still speculation on how they're going to be receiving them. If I had to guess, I'd say that it'll be a mixture of being them online (via google.com/phone) and buying them in stores. Google seems to like selling them online, but there HAVE been reports of Verizon in-store techs receiving training with the N1s.

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this. But on the VZW page before when I would search for Nexus One it would say not found. When you do it now however it directs you the Nexus One main page...very interesting!!!! Fingers crossed for some great news tomm...I'm still torn not sure which I want the Nexus One or the HTC Incredible!!!

That's interesting TJ009! Thanks for the update!

And if I may ask, what are the deciding factors for you in which phone to pick? In my opinion, the N1 is a far-superior device for many reasons. :)

I like both and I guess for me it will be price and availability. I also prefer the optical trackpad as opposed to the trackball. But I'm not against either device. I would prefer to get a lil hands on time with both to make a decision. I use my phone mainly for texting and making work phone calls. I also depend on my gmail calendar and camera to be pretty good.

I see, I see. Well, sounds like the Incredible would be better for your based on the things we KNOW so far (which pains my little Google fanboy heart to say :p). But yeah, either device is great, and it really comes down to those personal preferences (pad v. ball, etc).

Hopefully pricing for the N1 is on par with the T-Mobile 179.99 subsidized.

I for one and hoping that Google's car charging mount FINALLY gets released concurrent with the new N1 versions. I've been waiting since launch and refuse to buy a third party solution. Holding the phone in my hand while using GPS has nearly caused a few crashes...

I'm not pleased if they will be sold in stores. Otherwise it sounds good.

I'm going with the nexus one over the incredible. I've got the eris now and hate htc sense. I don't see why people like it. It slows down the whole phone and doesn't offer anything that you can't find a app for. The nexus will also see many more updates as they come directly from google. There is no need to wait for htc to get udpates working with sense.

I've been impatiently waiting for tomorrow just like lots of other folks. Until very recently (last week), I was certain I was getting an N1 on Verizon. Now, however, I'm having second thoughts. Sprint has good coverage in my area and the rate plans seem much more reasonable. Plus since I'm a current Verizon customer (out of contract, however, so I can leave at any time), I probably won't qualify for the lowest subsidized price. This assumes their pricing structure is similar to T-Mobiles.

As if all that wasn't enough to consider, now we start to hear more and more about the HTC Supersonic. This little beast really has my attention. It's got a bigger screen, is WIMAX capable AND is reportedly coming to Sprint in the near future. At this point, I'm going to sit on the sidelines and just see what unfolds. This is going to be a very interesting week. :)

Nexus one will kick the pants off the incredible, imo at least. HTC sense is great, especially if you get the 2.1 update o the eris. sense is new and growing and finally beging to mature. i dont think sense would slow down a phone with 512 mb or ram but on the hero, ya it kinda sucks sometimes. but i agree there isn't anything you cant just get in the market and htc is kinda slow on updates, mainly because their update has to go through two or three departments and then to the wireless carrier and i'm not sure but i think i heard it also has to be approved by google

but still in the end i will go with the nexus cuz i love the way it looks and i really like the stock android UI and there will probably be tons of rooting options

Same here. I have been lurking on this site, among others, for months. Just registered today to pipe in.

I have been waiting for a Google app integrated phone for years and for the Verizon Nexus One since December last year. So.... I will NOT be a happy camper if it's not available on the Nexus One site tomorrow.

    I'm just sayin'!

LOL i hear you, i was upset when verizon didn't get the g1
i was upset when verizon didn't get the magic/my touch 3g
i was upset when they didn't get the hero until it was already an old phone and in my opinion the made it look like crap.
i was upset that they decided to make the moto droid their flagship phone especially with all of it's problems
now finally they have a chance to redeem themselves if they don't butcher the nexus one

anyone think there is a chance, the nexus one is updated with a optical trackpad or higher resolution camera or will this make it to similar to the incredible?

I have a Verizon Blackberry Curve 8330 and even though it has served me well, however its time has passed. Now I want to be at the cutting edge of modern communications with the latest Android phone ;)

One of my biggest concerns is that somehow Verizon might want to lock some features down on the Nexus One, just like they locked down the GPS functionality on the Blackberries in order to sell their own VZ Navigator. That would not only be tragic, it just might be fatal for the Nexus One sales as well.

Nexus One won't be locked down, as it will be sold by Google, not Verizon...

HTC Incredible - now you might have some valid concerns... but not with Nexus One... it's Google's phone, their content... not VZW's...

I don't think they would make changes at this stage of the game. Just like the AT&T Nexus One, not much will change except changing the radio from GSM to CDMA.

I would have expected them to allow people to pre-order the phone, so that they could overnight it and get it the day of release...

Then again, tomorrow's release date is only speculated... Ahh!!!!

Yeah this is seriously killing me. I thought we might have gotten a SHRED of leaked info before the release date. I was just on VZW.com and if you type in Nexus One it redirects you to the google.com/phone site.

What makes this wait a killer for me is I'm not sure I can get my NE2!!! I have an early invite for a Droid (my NE2 is up in July) and I'm hoping I can get it for the N1.

    UGH!!!

I would certainly be thrilled if it went live at midnight EST (about 22 minutes from now), but I don't think that'll happen. I think that if it goes live the 23rd, it will be shortly after they make some sort of announcement at CTIA.
