if you download Barcode Scanner you can scan the pixel picture which is actually a QR Code (a square barcode). Tell your phone to open with the browser which will cue the phone to download the swype app to your phone. Next, go to Settings which you can access by pressing the gloing "menu" soft button on the front of the phone. From setting go to Applications, then check the box next to Unknown Sources. Then, using ASTRO File Viewer locate the folder named Download, find Swype, touch it which will ask if you want to install it. Then open your favorite messaging app, do a hard press on the typing field and select "input method" select Swype. Your done.

Scanner Radio is pretty awesome. If a stream is up where you currently are, you can listen to police and emergency services on their radios. Pretty neat if your into that sort of thing. The developer really works hard on it and release updates fairly often.

Another one I like is Wapedia. It doesn't only search wikipedia, but it can do several other wiki's as well and formats the pages to your screen. It even works great over 1X data (albeit without pictures).

You left out a step:after it's installed you have to go to menu-settings-language & keyboard, & check the box next to swype to enable it. Then long press on an input field, select input method, & select swype. This is the same for any alt keyboard.
