The one i know is Task Killer. What else is a Must have?
My Personal List:
Shazam (just cool, download it)
Zedge (Wallpaper and Ringtones, all free)
ASTRO File Viewer
Handcent (alternative SMS App)
Advanced Task Manager (I prefer to Task Killer)
Google Sky Map
Swype (can't live without it http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-eris/51161-swype-trial-period-ended-wtf.html#post743091 click the link for a working download link)
Barcode Scanner (will let you use your camera to scan barcodes like in the Swype link as well as any others)
Bonsai Blast (cool game)
Abduction (funny game)
How do i get Swype app? Im not to familiar with the Droid Apps thing. I went to the link and there was just the Pixel picture with a downloadable link and i uploaded it. Now what?
if you download Barcode Scanner you can scan the pixel picture which is actually a QR Code (a square barcode). Tell your phone to open with the browser which will cue the phone to download the swype app to your phone. Next, go to Settings which you can access by pressing the gloing "menu" soft button on the front of the phone. From setting go to Applications, then check the box next to Unknown Sources. Then, using ASTRO File Viewer locate the folder named Download, find Swype, touch it which will ask if you want to install it. Then open your favorite messaging app, do a hard press on the typing field and select "input method" select Swype. Your done.
Advanced Task Killer
Talk To Me
YouMail visual VM
Call Confirm (Absolutely, best app I ever picked up.)
Scanner Radio is pretty awesome. If a stream is up where you currently are, you can listen to police and emergency services on their radios. Pretty neat if your into that sort of thing. The developer really works hard on it and release updates fairly often.
Another one I like is Wapedia. It doesn't only search wikipedia, but it can do several other wiki's as well and formats the pages to your screen. It even works great over 1X data (albeit without pictures).
Scanner Radio is the best! Yet to find a better one.. though wish it had more areas that it covers..
You left out a step:after it's installed you have to go to menu-settings-language & keyboard, & check the box next to swype to enable it. Then long press on an input field, select input method, & select swype. This is the same for any alt keyboard.
These apps should be pre-installed:
Estrongs file explorer (es file explorer for short)
Folder organizer (full)
Ultra keyboard (full)
Setting profiles (full)
Dolphin browser hd
Separate names with a comma.
