What is causing my music to skip?

I had my Droid connected to my car's AUX via typical cable/jack. Various songs were skipping. They weren't skipping the day before, just since yesterday.

It only skips when it is connected via jack or Bluetooth to another player.

If i just listen to the Droid without connecting to anything else, it doesn't skip.

i've noticed the music will "skip" for a second or so when i receive a notification. i actually don't really mind because it's a fairly unobtrusive way to indicate a new notification. not sure if that's what's happening with you tho...

It must be an oversampling problem. How old is your cdman? Maybe if you set it on top of a folded up towel, that would help absorb some of the shock ;)

When I listen to the Droid directly, it does not skip. When I hook the Droid to another player (such as car radio), the songs will sometimes skip (without any notifications). Yesterday it was skipping during a song for almost 20 seconds. And then it kept doing it again and again.

I have noticed that while listening to podcasts with my BT headphones it will skip. Now this only happens when I get out of range of my wifi and it is trying to reconnect, if I turn off wifi it never skips.

when I'm in my car and using Navigation while music is playing and while plugged into the car charger, it does skip sometimes for no reason. In one case, the music completely stopped playing. I have my music hooked up thru a tape adapter haha :(

I've played music while connected via aux while navigating, also Pandora and Slacker while navigating, never had skip. Actually never had any music skips period.

A kind of bizarre result. Have you ever had a skip when using headphones? To the phone a headphone or aux should appear the same.

I had this problem once. A reboot solved it and it never happened again.
