What is that in the corner?

Ok, i dont know if anyone has notice a circle on the top left corner of the HTC droid eris, it kinda looks like a camera lens or something...does anyone know what it is for sure?

It's a light sensor. So when you're on a phone call and you put the phone up to your ear... (no longer senses light)... it shuts the screen off so your face can't mistakenly activate any buttons while you're on the call. Then when you move the phone away from your ear... (senses light)... it will turn the screen back on so you can end the call, etc.

thats the big "bell/whistle" they call the "proximity sensor" ooo0000oooo ahhhHHHhhhh

it is also what reads the ambient light level for the auto brightness setting. If you are in a bright room sometime put your finger over it and you can watch the screen go dimmer.
