I'm also running 1.5 on my Sprint HTC Hero. I haven't found anything that beats Opera Mini.

    Opera Mini.

Although the stock browser is decent (something I never would have said on my bb (LOL).

I use the stock browser when I'm on wifi and Mini Opera over 3g. I wish someone would work out how to link Live Bookmarks to MO though the "grid" style bookmarks page is just plain ugly.

Another vote for mini opera. I'm running 2.1 on a Hero and nothing comes close to speed, not even the new Dolphin HD.

OperaBridge v1.2.0 Application for Android | Communication

I was hunting round apps last night and stumbled upon this, it's a "bridge" between your bookmarks and Mini Opera, it allows you to open your standard bookmarks with MO.

Pretty much what I was asking for. Works great.

    Cheers Al

opera mini's only weakness compared to other android alternatives is javascript, but in terms of speed it's in a class of its own and it's what i mainly use
