Okay ive seen post about this and idk what it is.

I tried my best to do a search(which is one thing i hate is the search function of AF) to look for the answer but i didn't find it

So what exactly is this bug doing? Are people not having a signal 50& of the time or what? That can't be it because then verizon and the manufacturers would be in a lot of hot water....

To be honest no one really knows. Some think it's a reporting error. Others think there is an actual issue and the cell radio is draining battery. Is it taking up a large percentage of your battery drain?

Also, if you turn airplane mode on and off it should fix it.

From what I understand, Droid Eris users were the first victims of this bug. The phone was getting 50% signal and the battery would drain quickly. I have been seeing these reports on the LG Ally lately. I am really disappointed to hear this as I thought that LG generally made better phones than HTC.

The only thing you can really do is keep making VZW switch your phone until you get a working device. The only way you will convince them that it is the network is if you have 2 of the same device in the same location having that problem.

my cell standby accounts for 11% of my battery usage. my time without signal is 45%! this is due to the huge metal building i work in. i can still get text messages in there though. is this normal usage?

I noticed this back in February, here is the link to the post I made. I don't think anyone anywhere really knows what the deal is, but an interesting hypothesis was made...if the phone is truly idle for a long time, which mine sometimes is, then the cell radio actually turns itself off??
I try not to look at mine anymore!

Actually, now that I think about it, my phone is never truly idle for that long. I have stuff updating all the time (weather app for one). And...it never seems to show anything other than 0 when I'm at work w/a great signal, only at home where is it weaker. Back to square one.
