So, i love my Inc, but every time i run a speed test, I can't help but be disappointed. I am at my desk, with a decent 3G signal (-80dBm), and here is what i am getting using different servers (I am in NM):

Modesto, CA: .17Mbps Down, .80Mbps Up (158 ping)
Scottsdale AZ: 1.08Mbps Down, .28Mps Up
Flagstaff AZ: .47Mbps Down, .81Mbps Up (279 ping)
Las Vegas, NV: .49Mbps Down, .87Mbps Up (139 ping)
    Albuquerque, NM: .51Mbps Down, .66Mbps Up(163 ping)
San Fran, CA: .57 Down, .89 Up

Truth be told, i expected at least twice the DL speeds (at least one megabit/s). Am I dealing with a weak network here, or should i be looking inward at a phone issue?

How are you measuring? which site or app did you use?

    I used speedtest.net app, I had 2.22Mbps down and 0.83Mbps up.

Ah, should have put that - all of the above tests were with the speedtest app, and me manually changing the server each time. The phone is laying out on the desk, to avoid signal loss from me holding it. There is a Seidio Active case on it as well.

Then there is definitely something wrong with it.

Well, at least I am not insane then. So i wonder where the problem really is. I will test again at home, as well as hop on WiFi and test again.

In the mean time, any other Albuquerque area people having similar (or dissimilar speeds?)

So, i have good news (I guess). During lunch today, i took a long enough drive that I wound up under a different tower. In this case, i had -49dBm (i guess i was literally under a different tower), and got the following results:

    San Fran: 1.96 Down, .87 Up - 142ping
    Scottsdale: 2.09/.29 - 183 ping
    Las Vegas: 1.74/.83 -136 ping
    Albuqueruqe: 1.14/.86 - 145 ping
    LA: 1.5/.88 - 109 ping

So, I literally changed nothing but the tower, and my speeds more than doubled. So, looks like the tower over here is probably just congested or older, and cannot pull the speeds of other towers.

Least my phone aint broke. :)
