I use the ES File Explorer for managing all my files and folders. It is really great. The built-in ES Media player plays my music. For videos I use the MX Player.

    The same as above actually.

I used to use Astro File Manager which is good but just seems a little more clunky now.

For USB sticks you need Nexus Media Importer!

If you have wifi in the house (which most peope do), you may want to tackle this from the other direction. Install Airdroid or wifi Explorer Pro on your N7 and then manage the files via a web browser on you computer...

To manage my computer on my Nexus I use splashtop works great and I can manage everything not just one thing

I am confused. Do you want to have just plain Windows programs or do you want to manage the PC from the N7.
