Hey there...I was just curious what ROMs people are using these days as I've been out of the flashing biz for a few months now. Any links and any info would be awesome...meaning - please list any quirks/issues/fixes with any of them that you list.

    Thanks!

Do you have any details about the ROM you think would be useful? Also, do you know the link?

AOSP is great - Lean Mean and FAST -
    And tweaking it weekly!

Cm6 is nice and warm and fuzzy - lots of customizations etc....

    Both are Senseless....Which I like.

A sense ROM is what you already have on your stock HTC, widgets etc...

I'm not quite sure about the difference either. I'm running CM6, how does that differ from AOSP 0.9.7?

I've never really tried an aosp rom because the gallery doesn't work on my Hero. It takes FOREVER to load. What are your thoughts on that? Is there something I"m missing?

Aosp 3d Gallery does take a few seconds -
CM6 gives you the 2d gallery - you should be fine

    3D galleries are battery hogs

Never had much trouble with pictures loading into the gallery, I have about 175 pictures. It takes about 20-30 seconds to load. Maybe if you get a class 6 sd card, loading time would be quicker

Does it still take forever after they load the first time? Meaning, once they load the first time, if you go into gallery again, does it still take forever?

Go into the IRC with the developer ask him what he suggest, my issue is I am not able to do a 3 way call, the second call does not go through, and we are troubleshooting it right now with AOSP in the IRC chat room, check and see if you are able to make a 3 way call too see, and come to the chat and see if he has a solution for you

Flash the rom like any other. Wipe data, cache, and davlik cache.

Then flash the rom in recovery, then flash the gapps

Have there been any benchmarks done comparing CM6 and AOSP? I'm curious to know how much faster AOSP is, and if there's any battery life difference.
