OK, so i just rooted my Nexus. I reinstalled all my apps. Where and how do you guys flash a rom and all that stuff. I know about XDA, but how do you get it on your phone? Do I need to download any special apps from the market?

BTW, what roms should i download?

Sorry 'bout all the stupid questions.

Definitely download ROM manager and titanium backup from the market. Links to all of the custom roms are here:

To flash, download your rom of choice to your phone, enter clockwork recovery, make a full system backup, wipe data/cache/dalvik cache (under advanced), select choose zip from sdcard, find the rom file you downloaded and install, then reboot. Viola, custom rom!

This part can be the most confusing. To download the rom to your phone, first download it to your computer, plug in your phone via USB, then transfer the .zip (DO NOT UNZIP) to your phone's sdcard (save it to the parent directory for easy access).

Once that is done, open ROM Manager, click Flash Clockwork Recovery, then click Reboot to Recovery. That will boot you into Clockwork. From there, you will want to make your Nandroid backup.

To do this, use your volume rocker to select "backup and restore" and use your power button to select it. (You will always use volume/power to navigate in Clockwork Recovery, unless you download one of the new "touch" versions, I prefer the original.)

Select "backup" and let the phone make a backup.

    Next, select "go back".

    Select "Wipe Data/Factory Reset".

Select "Yes" and let it wipe itself.

    Select "Install from sdcard".

Next, select "Choose zip from sdcard".

Find your ROM, and select it.

Select "Yes - install" and let it install.

    Select "go back".

    Select "reboot system now".

    Login to google account.

    Reboot.

    Enjoy!

I would recommend you also learn how to restore your nandroid backup. This will help you should anything go wrong with your flash. Next step if you are interested, is to learn how to use ADB and basic commands that will allow you to fix problems if you can't boot correctly. Let us know if you need links.

i personally would avoid rom manager alltogether.

it is an app,in a working rom,and as such will not always be available for you to use.

id very strongly reccomend that you boot clockwork recovery and learn to manually backup, wipe, and flash your roms. after youre comfortable with the process, then if you still want to use rom manager go ahead- if you get stuck in a bootloop or non-working rom,you can avoid the moment of panic in not knowing what to do/how to fix. ;) just boot to recovery and manually reflash or restore.

    my 2 cents :)

It does help to know the manual method, ROM Manager is really just a shortcut. I normally use the power menu in AOKP to reboot to recovery.
