It seems that the more threads I read here, the more I see discussions turn into an opportunity to slam another another Android device. I really don't get the segmentation between Android users (and I'm sure it's not just this forum). It's one thing to compare specs and reviews of different models, but the constant bashing of other Android devices is tiring and boring: "this review says that the Incredible is better than phone X, over here they say that phone Y is better than the Incredible... phone Y sucks, phone Z comes out next month and will be better than everything, etc.." I am very happy to have an Android phone, as I feel that it offers the best mobile experience out there. I own an Incredible and I couldn't be happier with it as it's my first smart phone. It's the perfect size for me and does just about anything I would want a smart phone to do. In a years time, I'm sure I'll be drooling for some new Verizon/HTC offering, but maybe not... maybe I'll hold out for the full two years... who knows. I actually like the great press that the EVO received and that the Droid X is getting. The great reviews don't give me feelings of jealousy or arrogance in any way. While neither of those phones are for me personally (both are too big for my liking), I like the fact that they will only give Android a stronger foothold in the market. I live in New York and when I'm walking around and see other people with an EVO, Droid, Nexus One, etc... I don't sneer and think my phone is better or anything... I'm happy to see people supporting Android. It's often a conversation starter... "hey, isn't this OS kick ass?"... I'm not an iphone guy (obviously), so I like to see people coming over to our side. That's the bottom line for me. I like the fact that Android comes in different flavors and one can choose whichever suites them best. There is not one end all/be all Android phone, and the landscape is constantly evolving... it's exciting. If we were given one phone only by Google or HTC, that would be pretty boring. Isn't it supposed to be Android versus Apple? That's a debate I support and understand, but I don't support Android versus Android. It's counterproductive to bash phones that offer a virtually identical experience. We each have our own subjective tastes when it comes to features, screen size, options, etc... and what is a "must have" for some is a "don't care" for others. We all root for the same team as far as I'm concerned, we're just fans of different players. So can we try and lay off badmouthing other Android devices? It would make this forum a much more interesting place.
