It was beautiful in Southern Kansas this weekend. I camped out all weekend. Temps were just right for a big fire at night and a warm sleeping bag for sleep. It was a bit windy today but all in all... no complaints.
When I first moved to the central highlands of Arizona twenty years ago, it typically snowed over a foot, three or for times each winter. Then I remember news claiming that those snowfalls would be absent for twenty years because of El Niño wandering off. And they've been right, but now, the twenty years is up...
And still just October, we've had some wild stuff around here – hailstorms, instant late-monsoon thunderstorms, wildly fluctuating temps, you name it. I predict that our monster snows are coming back in a couple months – yay, I think. I'm not as thrilled about snow as I was twenty years ago. I assume California will finally get a lot too.
It's been getting nice & chilly at night (30s & 40s) but it's still 70s in my apartment - with no heat on & windows open. I'm excited for the cooler temps of winter so I can sleep comfortably.
