Whatsapp on Sony Tablet S

Hi ,

I am trying to install Whatsapp messenger on my SOny Tablet S running on Android 4.0.3 and naturally it throwing up an error "Tablets are currently not supported". Anyway to get rid of this problem so i can use Whatsapp on my tablet.. ???

I've never used it but from reading the app page. It looks as it is for phones only.

WhatsApp Messenger is a smartphone messenger.

This app is compatible with some of your devices.

In order to register with the service, it sends you an SMS authentication code to the mobile number you're device you're installing it on. Unless you're using a tab with a 3G Card, you probably won't have a number associated with it?

Is Pinger a suitable alternative?
