I WISH there was a way to be able to stream my netflix instant Q to my Droid X. WHen we get flash support, will this be possible? Is there ANY possible way of doing it now?

    Thanks,
    Ron

Netflix blocks streaming on mobile, even with froyo.

Considering Blockbuster will probably declare bankruptcy by the end of the year/early 2011, I'm not too worried that we won't be seeing an official Netflix app in the near future...

+1 on Netflix already working on the app, I heard that as well right around when Blockbuster was announced to be on the X.

Um, I don't think it is a case of Netflix blocking anything. Froyo doesn't have silverlight which is what netflix uses to stream to everything but the Ipad/Iphone.

If an android app appears I'd assume it'll use whatever they use to stream to the Ipad/Iphone since neither of those have flash or silverlight.

Last fall, when I was trying to find a way to run Netflix on Linux, it became clear that it wouldn't happen anytime soon. Moonlight was developed as a penguin friendly alternative to Silverlight, but it still doesn't work with instant streaming. Netflix blamed DRM issues and said it was out of their hands. Inasmuch as Android is Linux, it looks pretty bleak. Of course Verizon/Google have made a lot of new 'Linux Users' but they still seem pretty bent on restricting those users too.
