Having Froyo all set to go for the N1 doesn't have anything to do with how quickly it will be released for the EVO. You have to note, Froyo will still need to be worked on by HTC to "fit" the EVO, then approved of by Sprint.

I'd like to think HTC is already working on Froyo seeing all the press the EVO got at Google I/O. I'm sure it will still be some time after Froyo is released for the Nexus that we get it for the EVO because HTC will have to finalize thier work on the release build of Froyo and who knows what Sprint will do. I'm still thinking we will see it sometime next month though.

Sprint would give us Froyo just in time for Gingerbread. Hopefully they're on their game with the flagship phone. Otherwise we'll all be rooting and flashing soon.

Sprint will release it as soon as HTC makes a SenseUI overlay for it, then Sprint will delay it until they can find a way to dis-able the in-built WiFi tethering that comes on the OS.
