Help when you recieve a incoming text, does

when you recieve a incoming text message, how does your phone react?
my TB sounds with a notification or vibration and nothing else. shouldnt the phone wake up and have the text on the screen so you dont have to go into notifications to access the new text ?

Mine does the same. Rings and vibrates but the screen stays asleep.

Depending on the program you chose to use for texting, you can edit what it does in the settings of that program.

Does handcent sms allow you to change it so there is a tick, star next to the app icon when you get a txt?

I use the stock message app along with "pop up SMS" available in the market. Lots of settings, including a screen on feature and, obviously, a pop up message window. Works great!

The phone not waking for every text message is probably a battery saving tweak. I don't find it that big a deal, got a text message, swipe to turn it on and see the message...

yeah I don't have a problem with it. Just saying that mine does it. I'm using handscent.

Just curious. What phone did you have before the TB that did this stock?
