    Where[IMG]

    Description:
Where is a free application that does many of the things previously done by other applications. You can search Yellow Pages, Yelp, or do a Where search. You can check weather, news, coupons, local restaurants, movie times and trailers, gas prices, and so much more. You can even customize your where app to your liking. I personally think of Where as multiple applications, because of just how many things it can do.

    Overview of Components
    Search Bar:
From here, you can search Yellow Pages or a Where local search. You can do this by typing or using the voice search button, which comes in handy at times.

    Weather:
The weather tab gives you current, hourly, and the forecast for your area (powered by accuweather). You can add multiple locations for the weather tab also, which helps me a lot because I travel frequently. You can even view a weather radar from the tab. Finally, you can go to the "Weather Pulse",which is what people in a user set radius talk about the weather that they are experiencing and their opinions on it; however, the "Weather Pulse" tends to have lots of spam on it, ranging from advertisements to other inappropriate things.

    News
The news tab is one of my personal favorites. It offers US, entertainment, sports, technology, odd, and even local news. The only problem I found with the news tab is that the local news is not always up to date, but that still does not detract from the overall usability of the news tab.

    Restaurants
The restaurants tab is one of Where's specialties. It has literally over seventy different food options you can search from, ranging from Afghan to Vietnamese. Once you choose what type of food you are interested in, it will show you a list of restaurants in a user-defined radius. Once you have picked a restaurant, you can see the address, telephone number, pricing, rating, a map location (Google Maps), and even user written reviews. This tab is by far one of the most useful.

    Places
The Places Tab is where you can search for literally any type of place (similar to the restaurants tab). You can search for things like shopping or Hotels, or places like singles bars and nightclubs.

    Placebook
Placebook is simply a way to bookmark places that you have been to and to view the reviews you have written.

    Check-in
Check-in is a simple way for you to say you have been to a place. It allows you to share the place you went to via a social network of your choice and write a review for the place if you so choose to do so.

    Events
Imagine a calendar that everyone in your community writes on about Music activities, performing arts, sports, etc. Well that is what the Events tab is. You can find an event and see where it is on the map, and even get directions to the event.

    Movies
Movies is a way to find and get directions to movie theaters in your area. You can even see what movies will playing at the theaters and what movies will be coming to the theater. In addition, you can search for a movie then find a theater where it is showing. You can even watch a trailer for the movie to help you decide if you are going to want to see it.

    Gas Prices
Can you guess what this tab does. If you guessed change gas prices, you are correct. Well maybe it does not do that but it still has a lot of usefulness. First you select your gas grade. Then it will show gas stations in your area, and the prices they are selling the gas for. Never again will you kick yourself for paying for gas just to find out it is way cheaper across the street.

    Yellow Pages
This tab is very similar to the places tab, except it is powered by yellow pages instead of where. You can search for everything you would expect to find in the yellow pages (shopping, restaurants, bars, etc.). Some might find this an unneeded redundancy, but I like the fact that you can choose which service you want to use: Yellow pages or Where Places search.

    Coupons
Coupons is simply a list of coupons usably in a user-defined radius. If you see a coupon you like, you can save it and it will move to the saved coupons tab. There are some wonderful coupons that I myself will use in this tab.

    Traffic
Traffic is powered by the popular traffic.com, and gives you traffic for your area. Unfortunately, there is no "traffic data" for my area, so I will leave this tab for all you city folks.

    Dashboard
Is a way to see weather, news, and gas prices all at the same time. This is perfect if you do not want to go to each individual tab, or if you are in a rush.

    Shortcuts
Shortcuts is a way to bookmark your searches, so that next time you can just click on a bookmarked search instead of typing the whole thing. I found this tab completely useless, as the time it would take me to scroll down to the tab and find the search, I could have already searched it from the top of the page.

    Brands
When you first enter the brands tab there is a list of brands such as Walmart and McDonald's, and it asks you to choose which brands you use the most. I found that once you have selected them, the brands appear on a page and when you click them, it searches for them in your area. This, like shortcuts, is useless for the same reason shortcuts is.

    Guess Where
Guess where consists of two games to help you find a place to eat. The first game truly confused me. It seemed that you had to keep the ball from hitting the Android until you saw a restaurant you liked, but I am most likely wrong. The second game, you spin a wheel with 10 sections on it to determine your restaurant; however, it took almost thirty seconds for the wheel to stop for me (also, I could not take a screenshot of the spinning game for some reason).

    [IMG][IMG]

    Where Wall
This is very similar to pulse except it is not limited to your local area. I found that, like Pulse, most people used it to flirt, post ads, and do other things I am sure it wasn't intended for. I am sure the idea sounded good in concept but this another feature I think Where could do without.

    Pulse
Pulse is just the non-weather version of "Weather Pulse". It is a place for people in your area to post there locations or just what they are doing. I found this a bit weird actually. Many people posted the address that they currently where at. Most posts where advertisements. I found Pulse as one of the major faults of the Where app as a whole.

    Zipcar
When I clicked this tab I got an error saying "nothing found" because I am not in a big city. Apparently Zipcar is a car rental alternative, but since it's not working I cannot review it.

    Starbucks
I do not see the purpose of this one at all. It is a shortcut to a Where search for Starbucks. You can already search for Starbucks and they already have Shortcuts tab designed specifically for this.

    Send Location
This tab enables you to send your approximate location via email or SMS. I personally find this function useless but others by like it.

    Pros:
Replaces several applications you possibly already have (Saving space and time)

    Completely free

    Fully Customizable

    Provides News (even local news)

    Cons:
The "Pulse" and "Where Wall" are great ideas but there is too much spam and sometimes innapropriate content on them.

Some content does not work for me because I am not in a big city.

Shortcuts and brands tabs are useless.

Guess Where is a good idea but needs some work.

    Conclusion
This is a great app because it replaces several of my previous apps but most importantly does a better job than the apps it replaces. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who wants a do-it-all application for their Android phone. I give Where 4.5 Where Searches out of 5.

I appreciate the addition of screenshots, but could you shrink them down a bit? They are massive. Made me feel like there wasn't anything to actually read.

Okay, I will have my son try to shrink the photos and perhaps post a video.
