I was looking at the box the phone came in (nothing better to do!) and saw several icons that I don't think of seen on the phone:
    - a cup of coffee (just this simply indicate that the phone incorporates Java?)
    - a tape reel with a 'play' icon
    - a pair of scissors and a graph of an audio wave (an audio file editor?)
    - a spanner
    - a SIM card with a cog wheel (does this represent the mysterious SIM Toolkit, which has been mentioned elsewhere in this forum)?

The sim toolkit is an orange uk thing. It's where you can receive info as a text on news, lifestyle, sport etc.

    Correct

    Streaming Media Player

    Ringtone Trimmer

    Not found

Yup. This is I believe operator-dependant i.e. some support it and others don't.

Look in Settings - Applications - Manage applications and you'll see the icons associated with every app on the system.

    Thanks for all those answers.
Where can I find explanations of all the other apps that are in the Manage applications screen but not in the All Programs screen?
