Yes they come right off. At worst some adhesive might remain. Some Goo-Gone and a rag will take that off!

Yes, you are able to take it off without damaging the screen. I would suggest buying Ghost Armor though as Zagg InvisibleShield feels to rubbery. I have Ghost Amor personally and it's the best.

Oh, I didn't read you didn't want to purchase via internet. Hmm, Ghost Armor is only available at a few stores. I would still suggest ordering it off their website though.

It does at first but gets better with time. Kinda like the track pad on a notebook.

Yeah I know, I have an InvisibleShield installed on my iTouch. I kind of prefer Ghost Armor now though.
