So I'm considering getting a Desire, but I can't see how to get one...

I've been googling my butt off for a while and maybe I'm just dumb, but I'm getting nowhere. Sorry if this is an obvious question

I see tons of links saying AT&T will get it (I'm still under contract there w/iPhone 3G), but most of them are from earlier in the year. I don't see it listed in their product list & I even called them and they had no idea what the Desire was...

So is AT&T going to get it? HTC links me to AT&T as though they have it...

    Thanks in advance!

Man, that sucks if true. I'm really dying to ditch the snail slow 3G. My local AT&T store only has 2 android phones & neither have multimedia controls on the earbud wires like my iPhone.

I don't think I can wait around any longer with no real prospects of an android phone in the near future...

I guess I'll have to send Steve Jobs some more cash...
