Please bear with me, I'll try to make this brief.

As a long time iphone user and someone who's used the iphone4 for a few days, i absolutely love the crispness of the retina display.

I'm totally spoiled by the iphone 4 screen's crispness when browsing the web (a friend let me use his for a few days on vacation) and so far the best android screen (samsung galaxy s) does not quite get there for me, at least to the point where i want to sign up for a two year contract with a carrier.

Honestly the first phone that gets iphone 4's display quality is getting me.

In the meantime, I want an android phone now! I'm tired of iOS and want something that behaves more like a computer (android os) and less like an appliance (iOS).

Right now i'm looking at the Nexus one used, are there any out of contract android phones that you guys would recommend for me getting my feet wet with the OS? I live in seattle, which has HSPA+ and sprints 4G, if that makes a difference.

Thanks guys, ANY feedback is appreciate, so please let me know what you think!

If you're willing to jump carriers:
    Sprint: EVO
VZW: Droid Inc. or Droid X

Have to agree with redbird, EVO might be a little better if you are interested in rooting
