Just wanted to get an idea of who's getting the N4. Trying to decide whether or not to jump ship from Verizon to a prepaid carrier. Also, please say why you are or aren't getting one.

Not getting one because I just got a GNex (unlocked) for cheap.

N4 looks very cool. But before buy I need to hold it in hand, but unfortunately it is not available in shops yet. For Denmark it won't happen soon :(

Once again, we Verizon customers get screwed. First, LATE updates (I run CM10 so no biggie for me) and now no N4 for us. I would most likely not buy it anyways since it's not LTE. Hopefully the N5 will be a large enough jump in tech to make the upgrade worth it.

just got he gnex through sprint and i think im going to just wait for the GOOGLE GLASS. the gnex is in still top 10 best devices.... plus all u get is 4.2 and a better camera mp.... for one cameras are for women and for 2 4.2 will be on the gnex as soon as CM10.1 is done....not worth my time and lg sucks in my opinion.... btw this is just my look on the nexus 4 it is sweet i like the design but if i got it it'd be in a case anyways so its not even worth the trouble to me.... but if you have an iphone you should deff. get anything android lol...

If i were u would definitely ditch verizon and get n4. 3 great reasons 1) no more contracts 2) new phone 3) updates straight from google.

N4 is only 300 bucks. Im not getting n4 because i have gnex which from my point of view is identical(in terms of web and general usage) Im might get one next year when it will be available stress free

If you have HSPA 42 in your neighborhood it isn't that bad.

Who gives a crap about lte. LTE is such overrated technology! Its far more ahead of its time.. N4 users reporting up to 20Mbps on tmobile network.. Average is about 7-8Mbps how much faster do you need.

This whole thing about lack of lte on the phone just tells how spoiled the majority of consumers really are.

Ordered it on the 13th. Still waiting (got the back order email late last week).

Looking forward to it. Seems like a fun device.

No because it has no LTE/VZW and if it did it would probably suck.

Yes, I'm getting one, but only when it becomes available again in the Play Store. I am not going out and paying a premium to buy it off of someone who is looking to make a quick buck from the scarcity.

I have been going back and forth about getting one. The longer it takes to become available in the play store again, the less likely I am to get one.

Coming from a VZW Gnex, the N4 doesn't really over much as to the things I care about in a phone. There's only 3 things I really care about. Most important to me is screen quality, then build quality, speed of the OS, and then price of service.

Screen Quality: When it comes to screen quality, what I really want is an HD screen with low black levels. I just don't think LCDs are there yet when it comes to black levels and viewing angles. I have to admit, that during daytime, looking straight on, the N4 would probably look better than the Gnex. But I've had a thing for Samsung's amoled screens ever since I've had the Galaxy S Captivate. I can't stand blacks that look grey and don't blend right into the bezel of the phone when under dim lighting conditions.

Build Quality: The N4 has better build quality, but this advantage is nullified by the fragility of the glass backing. I don't drop my phone a lot, and I've never broken a phone, but I do drop phones every now and then, and would end up dropping this one. What's the point of the fancy glass backing if I'll have to cover it up? Even if I did cover it up, I don't feel like the backing would be safe. Rather than dropping the phone, the real problem is that I carry my phone in my pocket and a lot of times my gnex will hit door handles, the corner of tables, or stair rails. I'd like to see a nexus built by motorola, something sturdy, but still sleek (although I do think motorola phones can be a bit to industrial looking at times).

Speed: The N4's processor is faster than my gnex, but I already have 4.2 on my gnex and the OS is basically just as fast and buttery as the N4. And I don't play graphic intense games on my phone either, I save that for my N7.

Price of Service: I could save $200 and buy a GSM gnex instead and save money on my plan without having to buy the N4. If I switch to t-mobile's $30/month plan, I can save $45/month, or if I switch to straight talk, I can save $30/month. I do think that LTE is a bit overrated, and in my personal situation anyway, I cannot get LTE at work, so 90% of the time when I want to use LTE, I'm actually barely even getting a 3G signal.

There are a bunch of pluses or minues that I didn't mention here that some people might care about. I don't really care much for picture perfect camera quality on a phone. Just about any decent smartphone has a decent camera that would be good enough for me. As for storage space or removable battery, the only time I removed my phone's battery was to install the extended battery. As for storage space, I have a 32 gb gnex, but I take advantage of google music's cloud service so I don't use much space on it anway.

For the things I care about, the gnex does them just as well as the N4. The N4 has good screen quality but not low black levels, fast processor speeds that won't help with the way I use the phone, good build quality but is fragile, and low cost service plans which are obtainable with the gnex.

My next phone will be a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 by VZW. Why go from a GenX to another phone that's basically identical to it. makes no sense.

Not... because I just got the VZN GNex yesterday for FREE. Nice phone, still figuring things out. It updated last night to JellyBean 4.1.1 and its pretty smooth.

Because buying a new supposedly "flagship" device without supporting the largest carrier in the US and not having the latest technology (LTE) is settling for something that isn't the best.

You may be quite happy with it in your situation, but understand that others aren't willing to settle with what could have been.

just an update. I gave in and got a nexus 4. I couldn't resist the temptation. I've already switched to a gsm gnex on t-mobile for the time being. My ship date estimate is 2-3 weeks.

After looking into it, I found that some people are applying "screen protectors" or skins really, to the back of the phone for added protection. I will probably do this along with a bumper maybe.

most Random post i have ever read...
google glass has NOTHING to do with phones....NOTHING.
i agree, Gnex is still a top 10 phone
you dont only get 4.2 and a better camera...you get double the RAM, a much better CPU and GPU, larger battery, better design, better screen, updates straight from google ect.
cameras are for everyone. i have a family that i like to take pics of....not sure how that makes me female :/
if you have an iphone you should get anything android....there are only a handful of andorid phones i would take over an iphone.

ran a test between my buddy yesterday...his HSPA+ t-mobile phone beat my Gnex on LTE...just barely...but it did have the faster speeds.

LTE can be used on certain frequencies right now....none of which are available in the US at the moment.

Cameras are for women? What does that mean exactly.. All you get is 4.2.. Isn't that what we are looking for? To be on top of the food chain. Style wise and version wise?

Once my t-mobile contract ran out--on my google nexus one--I've stayed out of contract, and happily so...easy to change providers when the situation indicates...I got the fairly priced Google Galaxy Nexus, and I'm very happy with it...the S4 is cool, but now that google seems to be doing alright in hardware I'll stick with what I've got, for a while...

Probably wont be getting it. but only because i am in contract with verizon for another 9 months or so. by the time my contract is up, the Next nexus will be just around the corner. i am REALLY hoping the galaxy nexus can keep me going long enough so that i dont end up buying a phone i will hate.

Next Nexus off contract for me. being tied to a carrier for updates isn't a big deal....I will be Rooting and Rom-ing my next nexus...but not being tied to a carrier and having a smaller bill as well as the latest and greates from google are HUGE selling points for me.

GSM Tmo Gnex here...I think I am sticking with it. Ive got a standing $250 offer for her IF i go N4...but the idea of not being able to swap batteries is a huge turn off. By lunch today I was at 20%, and unable to get to a charger.
by quitting time I was pretty much dead. If this schedule gets to be frequent and I find myself out of doors, on rooftops etc alot, then I will need another battery.
with the N4 thats a non starter....
