Help Why am I seeing contacts on sim

I've set my contacts to only display google and phone, yet when I do a search it lists the google/phone contact and the saved contacts on sim. Exported all contacts to sim as a backup measure, but ended up deleting them to clean up the search. Anyway to get around this?

Galaxy S4 on AT&T 4.2.2

I personally thought search - looks at the entire devise as a whole. The contacts should really not appear if you are scrolling down and up your phone book. In addition - at this day of phones I don't really think there is a need for you to save contacts to sim.

What is the point? You always have your stuff in the cloud and sim contacts are not very easy to manipulate.

That's just my opinion!
