This is one thing bothering me about this phone. Whether it comes through a text or on an internet forum, I only see a still image when I know it's a .gif. Can someone tell me I'm just missing a setting somewhere?

You are talking about an ANIMATED gif then? .gif - Is a STILL image format, but playing animated .gif's is not a given thing... lol, now of course I will have to see if I can duplicate this or if it is just your phone... Let us know if you fix it. hehe...

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I though .gif meant it was animated, and yes, this is what I'm having a problem with. Are you saying yours plays them?

Edit : Also smileys don't move either.

    Bump

Should I assume this phone is not capable of viewing animated avatars and moving smiley faces then?

I don't think it's a Hero issue. I don't think any of the Android browsers (for any of the phones) support animated gif files.
