    They'd decided that they want to do it. They just haven't figured out how to do it without having potential "security issues" in it. I think they're just finding a way to protect Android Market developers.

    Security failcurity. Even now, it's pretty simple to back up your apps and pirate them, if you really, really want to.

    It really isn't so much about pirating software as it is data security. Many apps already save data to the SD card, but installing the app on the SD makes it even that much more of a risk. Easy to swipe the card leaving the phone behind. Or copy off the contents so you never know you've been compromised.
