I went into US Cellular today to ask about a glitch I've been having and the lady told me to update my system on the US Cellular site. So today I did, but after it got done, my phone froze on the Galaxy start up page. After I turned my phone back on, it was stuck in Safe Mode. So I turned my phone off, took out the battery for 1 minute, and then turned my phone back on, and it was normal. But then it completely froze, and I had to turn it off again. Now, it is stuck in Safe Mode and it keeps on telling me that I have no signal. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my phone and/or how to fix it?

First of all, it takes them about 10 minutes to do it for you. I don't know why they had you do it yourself, unless the place you went had no techs . When you take your battery out, your phone should be "on" for an effective boot.
Prior to the patch release my phone had a safe mode issue, and they had to wipe my phone. I was having major glitch issues prior to the patch. Things are good since. I would recommend going back to the store for help. That's what I would do.

It is possible to do the update from home via download. But it can cause more problems than it solves, too. Zip has a good suggestion. If you don't mind a complete wipe of your phone (you can back up your contacts and some app data before you do it) it will clear up the issues for you.

Just make sure the store loads the EE19 update onto your phone. (Menu-->Settings-->About Phone-->Build Number)

Well, I finally got it out of Safe Mode, but now it's incredibly slow and all of the buttons have issues (i.e. the Menu, Home, and Back buttons pressing on their own). It makes it really hard to use the phone at all. Also the phone vibrates so much on its own, and makes awful noises. I plan to go into the store sometime today, but they don't have any techs there. I'd have to go to the store in a town 30 miles away in order to see one.

If I wiped my phone, would I be able to reload my apps via the Market?

Yes, you can. But given the issues you are having, it sounds like you really need to take it to a tech center, unless you feel comfortable downloading and doing the complete update yourself.
