I have low vision and I noticed on the iPhone and Windows Phone, you can magnify the entire screen not matter what you're doing, even works on apps, does Google not care?

In ICS there is an system option that seems to help many people ...

Try setting ... Settings | Display | Font size ... to Huge.

What Thom said works well :)

Also if you are looking to magnify things with your camera to read labels and such better, as I know my Grandfather utilizes this: Magnify

I have that option running 4.2.1. It is a custom ROM so I can't confirm it's there for everyone on JB.

Might have something to do with most comparable android devices screens being much larger than the iphones tiny screen.
