The main reason I rooted was to fix an annoying clipboard bug that causes every app to crash upon copying to the clipboard, and I couldn't paste anything either. It was either root or do a factory reset.

This bug also occurs on the Galaxy S3. http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...-s3-crashing-when-copying-text-clipboard.html

Another reason is to be able to use NTP with a Wi-Fi-only model, so that the clock is always right automatically.
