Bit random but I just noticed that my phone was displaying the icons for both 3g and wi-fi, rather than just wi-fi. Normally when there is a wi-fi signal the phone shuts down 3g.

However, I could not connect to anything. I could turn off wi-fi and connect via 3g or turn of 3g and connect via wi-fi, but when both were on it seemed like both were trying to connect and getting confused.

A reboot solved the issue... did I do something silly?

I am wondering whether task killer might have caused the confusion... have heard some bad things about using it.

Sounds as if your router didnt allow connection.

Do you have wifi sleep policy? I can get both if in range of my router, but not using it. When I use the net, it kills 3G and uses wifi.

That's why it was odd... when both icons were on the screen i could not connect. I could disconnect wi-fi and use 3g, or disconnect 3g and use wi-fi, but when both were turned on I could not connect at all.

The sleep policy on wi-fi is 15 mins

Have you checked nothing near you is broadcasting on the same freq as your router?

Also make sure any cordless devices are at least 1m away from your router.
