My wifi keeps dropping every 5 mins so I want to try assigning it a static IP address in the phone's settings.. I went through numerous posts where people are saying that you need to go to Settings >>> Wi-fi >>> Long-press on the wifi network >>> AND THEN CLICK ON MODIFY NETWORK
But when I longpress on my wifi network's name and choose MODIFY NETWORK... the new window that opens displays the following with no options to edit them:
Status-greyed out
Signal Strength-greyed out
Link Speed-greyed out
Security-greyed out
IP address-greyed out
Password (asking me to enter)
Two checkboxes: Show Password , Show Adv. Options
with Cancel and Save options at bottom
So how do I edit the IP address? And I don't see the words DHCP or Static anywhere either!
Please help me!
PS: Oops, I had to check the 'Show Adv. Options' and I was able to change the settings....Request the mods to delete this post if they want to.. Thanks!
