    Hey guys,

I am new on this forum. I have recently bought an S2 from ATT.

I am able to connect to my uiversity's internet connection. Connection to the university wifi network always goes through without a hitch.

I generally dont have a problem while I am using the internet. However, if I am not using the internet even for a short period (say 10 minutes), I am no longer connected to the internet. Then after a bit, the wifi network also goes off and data services kick in.

This problem is remedied by restarting wfi on my phone. Internet resumes but then the same thing happens again if I stop using it even for a short while.

I believe this could be due to some battery saving setting. Please advice.

    Thanks,

    Rohit

there's a setting when you go to your wifi settings > advanced settings. You can set the wifi to turn off when the screen turns off. Make sure thats not set.

I have already done that. That does not seem to be the issue. The setting there is set to "Never".

do you have any other app installed, like juice defender (or similar)? That behavior sounds like something else is controlling the wifi
