WiFi Tethering-- I thought it was legal now?

hello,

I thought I'd be able to tether my phone with legal apps such as foxfi. I can't seem to use it, and a number of sources have told me that i still need to enable the wifi tethering service with verizon in order to get those apps to work. but that conflicts with the above link!

can someone tell me if wifi tethering is in fact allowed? if so, I must be experiencing some other issue when i try to create a hotspot.

im using a droid razr m (best android out-- hands down).

Some companies make you pay additional to tether. They see it just the same as having to pay separate for internet or unlimited minutes.

so that means the above link is not correct? and that tethering with verizon is still a pay service?

it's illegal for them to block certain apps that do it. However, it's their network, and their right, to charge you for using it.

As an fyi, Verizon now includes free WiFi hot spot usage with there new Share Data plan.
