Will rooting the G2 give you access to free wifi tethering that comes with 2.2?
Well, not immediately. However, there is a wifi tethering app for root, that should work. I'm using that on my G1 w/ CM6 (also does not include wifi tethering for some reason).
The app is not on the Market, but it can be found at: android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code
This app works on the G2 wonderfully
Can you explain to me the steps I would need to take to make this work with my T-Mobile G2? You said it works wonderfully with the G2. I love to find out. Thanks!
Didn't work for me.
I use easy thether love it
^^^me too and no complaints
Last time I used EasyTether, it was USB only. Is there a Wi-Fi version available? I don't see anything in the market.
As do I +1 for easy tether
Root using VISIONary, download and install the wifi app. I am using the pre11. I have also used the one built in after the ota. Find out about charges later.
