I did some searching through the forums and users guide but didn't find what I was looking for.

I have WiFi at home and when I stay in hotels when I travel for my job. If I connect via WiFi does the phone default to that connection for web, email, etc. or would one need to turn off mobile network in order to fully utilize the WiFi connection?

I would assume that, when on a WiFi network, that anything that could use that connection would do so but...

    Thanks for the info...

In my experience, this is exactly what happens. I live in a place with a weak signal, but use WiFi all of the time. When I am connected via WiFi, it drops the 3G data connection. As soon as you leave the WiFi area, it switches 3G back on for data.

Makes me feel that I shouldn't even bother turning off 3G. Unless I am on an airplane, but there is a mode for that.
