Wiimote controller

Hmm hello I like long runs in the rain and sleeping in crowed areas lol jp...I have a Wiimote Controller app on my Excite 10 I have it connected it and able to map the buttons but when it comes down to actually gameplay it will not work. I've tried it with both sega/nes emulator, am I missing a step do I need to use a paid version of a Wiimote app? I'm lost because I seen several videos on youtube clearly playing Sonic, Mario, ect using the wii controller. This is the link just in case it helps
