The X will not work on LTE, there will be no update that will enable 4G. None of the currently available Verizon devices will work on LTE.

It's just like back when they rolled out 3G. You have have buy an LTE capable device. So far nothing has been made available for Verizon that is publicly known to be LTE Capable.

I was hoping it might have been one of those hidden things we just don't know about the X :(

The question arises, could there actually improved speeds on the 3g phones where LTE rolls out due to less congestion over the 3g network? If so, that would be a non direct improvement.

The DX will work just as well on LTE as it does on 4G. No LTE radio, no LTE.
