Make a backup and try it

Sometimes it won't matter. Sometimes it will. Some say don't worry about it. Some say you MUST do it.

I just wipe everything no matter what and I've always been happy with my results going from ROM to ROM whether updates or flashing an entirely new one.

i just did it and everything seems fine as of right now no problems

Good deal did you upgrade ROM's?

nope went from virtuous 3.1 to skyraider 3.3.3

Thanks for testing! I'm thinking when going from a Sense based ROM to a Sense based ROM which are based off the same build # (I'm not sure these are just a hunch) that there is no need to wipe cache

yeah thats what i was thinking i was getting sick of wiping every time i wanted to change roms

That's cool, but when wierd things start popping up here and there and you can't figure how to account for them... just remember, "didn't wipe, hrmm." Otherwise, have fun!
