Wireless Lan

Are you also having the same problem using a WiFi network elsewhere? If yes, that would indicate an issue with your phone. If no, the problem is probably an issue with the WiFi network. If you don't have access to the Xfinity modem/router box, who does?
One major problem with Xfinity is you as a customer only have limited control over your own home network, at any time Comcast can over-ride anything you've configured in the router settings.
However, if you're connecting to the Xfinity guest network (the shady default added by Comcast allowing any Comcast customer to use other Comcast customer's WiFi connectivity) there's little you can do to fix your situation.
Your best option is to buy your own wireless router, log into your Comcast account and disable all router functionality so the unit itself is just a cable modem, then connect your properly configured router. At that point you'll have a home network you have complete control over.

I would suggest also checking your WiFi preferences.

It's possible that your phone is detecting other WiFi networks that you have prioritized and automatically trying to switch to that network, even if it has worse signal.

It may make sense to open up specific networks and choose the option to "forget" them and then try reconnecting.
