SUCCESS! Wireless tether in AP Mode (NOT ad-hoc) + WPA2 Encryption - xda-developers

Nice. My only problem is that it means giving up OCUV Hydra, which means giving up the extra snappiness under high load and the 4 or so extra hours of battery life I have been getting.

I will wait for hydra kernels to incorporate this.

Me too. I threw it on there to test for them this morning. What I did was installed the zip, got it to work, the reflashed hydra kernel. No harm done. Now if I want it to work I just reflash the kernel from the zip on the link and voila, access point.

Just got it working. In fact Typing this on my Ubuntu Laptop while tethered to my Dinc, using WPA/WPA2. The log shows starting an AP instead of Ad-hoc. Nice.

There are new hydra kernels out today that have ap support.I'm testing out the 1.15 oc uv ov. So far all is well.

where did you get the hydra kernel that allows you to connect to ps3? I have the 1 from Hydra Kernels - Overclocked Kernels but it won't allow my ps3 to find the wifi...?

FYI--Leaked OTA already has the correctly compiled kernel to do this, so don't reflash it.

I am using that kernel with Skyraider 1.9, did you get it right off of the hydra kernels page? Or somewhere else?


hmm.. seems to be that skyraider 1.9 "doesn't need" it? so it says on the XDA post

I used to be able to play XBOX Live with the older version in Ad-Hoc mode. Now...I can't because my NAT settings are set to "MODERATE" with the Access Point Wireless Tether.

Does anyone know how I can get Ad-Hoc mode back??
