can somebody please explain how to make wireless tether work? I see the network from my iPad and then back to my phone, but no internet access. What am I doing wrong?

Wireless tether make an adhoc connection that some devices cannot pick up on perfect example is an android device can't see an adhoc connecting. But you said you can see an open connection on your ipad? If you see a connection then you should be able to establish a connection and bam it should feed off your 3g connection for internet. I personally couldn't get wireless tether or barnacle to work for me so I purchased the team blackhat app which has everything you need to create a true 3g hotspot not an adhoc connection the those other programs use. It's a $1.99 and you get free wifi hotspot as well as some other goodies. Check it out its worth the 2 bucks in my opinion. Sorry I can't be anymore help than that.

no, it works with vzw 3g hotspot

I cant get the 3GMHS app to install to my X. It will bring up the installer and then says application not installed. Any suggestions

Removed apps. If 3g is in there you're in luck. Other than that I don't know. Maybe someone else does. I would be on the ota, fyi.

i only rooted for the sole purpose of getting wireless tether...i've seen videos on youtube where a person connects their ipad to their droid...anybody else have any other suggestions?

update: i got it to work,mods can delete this thread.

Yeah I'm having a problem where the passwords match but my x won't connect to the internet
