It's always awesome owning an EVO, but with Froyo on the way what are you most looking forward to doing?

FLASH SUPPORT!!!!! skyfire does an ok job on minimal things but with flash support, many media doors open up, as well as some web apps that are flash based (pupu player for podcasts for one)

I remember reading about push messaging similar to iPhone push messages that will be available on Android 2.2. This is what I am really excited about for sports apps. It is much better to get a push notification when someone scores that have an app constantly running and checking for scores ever __ minutes.

Also Flash and faster speeds of course.

I'm definitely most excited about flash. I can't wait to see what apps developers will be coming out with this feature.

The flash support on Froyo is great, but my 2.1 had Flashlite which did well enough in a pinch.

Android 2.2 Froyo has full flash support? This is awesome, can't believe I didn't know this with all the reading I do on Engadget and Gizmodo.

So Skyfire will truly become an unneeded app at that point (ESPECIALLY with 2.2 being rolled out to so many devices this and next week, and of course Droid 2 coming with 2.2 from the factory!)?

Skyfire might still be able to spoof a full fledged browser for Hulu, but I am far from sure.

    Best Feature X 1,000,000

I did a pre-Froyo LinPack and was getting 6-7MFLOPs consistently.

Post Froyo I get 37-42 consistently.

Pre-Froyo my Quadrant scores were in the 550-600 range.

Post-Froyo quadrant scores are in 1150-1200.

    What a difference JIT makes!

When Droid came out I thought that more big time 3D games would come out. It had the specs, it had the cool sci-fi marketing, so what's the holdup? Then I realized that the lack of app2sd was a big bottleneck. Can't sell big games if the internal memory isn't large enough. Now that it has the apps2sd, speed, opengl es 2 and the new anti-piracy measures we should see more games.
Flash will also bring a lot of games to android for those who prefer whizz ball (Discovery Kids :: Whizzball) over Gears of War

data usage will skyrocket after Flash because people will be watching more web videos and using more websites. Many websites are entirely done in Flash.
I used to be a big fan of CSS. But it is stifling as you are literally locked into a box. After years and years of design by committee by the W3C, nothing has really changed. Web designers want to be creative and need the freedom to design outside the box.

It is so much better now. I wasn't sure how much difference I'd actually see, but it is a lot better than I thought.

    Gotta say, App2SD wasn't a hold up.

Super KO Boxing, Dungeon Hunter, Hawx, and a few other games all installed on the phone internal memory, but required a LARGE download to the SD card. Just goes to prove nothing held back developers from pointing to the SD cards for game files.

Native App2SD is a fantastic thing, but right now so few apps take advantage of it.

The anti-piracy measures certainly help as well!

Many people had problems with lack of internal memory even though they weren't getting big games. It's small, gets filled up and you have to choose what to get rid of before you get something new. If you're trying to sell a fun game or app, you don't want people to have to worry about such calculations.

Is tethering via USB or WiFi (or both)? What about Verizon's stupid restrictions... does 2.2 get around those, or will we still have to root and download a 3rd party app? THANKS!

PS: Does anyone know if wireless tethering will be increased with the phone's same 3G sharing? I have had a Touch Pro 2 from Verizon, and I wasn't sure if I could expect a slightly better/faster connection with the Droid 2, because of the increased power of the phone and perhaps reception?

Tests might show that Froyo is much faster than Eclair, however, I don't experience any speed increase in real life usage on my Desire. Neither when using the GUI nor when browsing. Am I missing anything?
