X ship date doesn't mean anything

    The ship date verizon give you doesn't mean anything. I ordered my droid x
    Saturday morning they told me it would ship on th 27th of July. Well I just got off of the phone with vzw and it already shipped will be here on Wednesday just thought I would let everyone know it could arrive alot early then they say

    i wondered if that was just a fall back date just in case. kinda like how they said my phone might not be delievered by fedx till 7pm(it came at 1pm)

    Probaby similar as the incredible. I got my phone a couple days early then.

    VZW is good about this IMO. They indicate the latest possible date it will ship.

    Too bad folks that had to get replacements (I had my replacement confirmed 7/16/2010 at 3:32 p.m.) are getting screwed out of their phones while folks that ordered a day later already have theirs on the road.

    I'm so MAD at Verizon right now! This is just ridiculous that they have no clue how to process orders in the way the were placed. NO CLUE!

    Every day that passes with Verizon's bullcrap, I'm more and more inclined to just return this Droid X they sent me that doesn't work, get my money back, and wait until Verizon proves they can deploy a new smartphone release without all the screwups.

    Take a deep breath now and relax........my luck sucks, and Verizon doesn't make it any better.

    lol, i still remember when vzw said they had enough stock to last a week or two. LMFAO.

    this device is the S#IT!! no surprise its sold out everywhere

    I hope that is the case for my replacement that got ordered at 2 am this morning...OH well if I have to wait until the 27th so be it. Atleast I know what I am waiting on...kinda worries me that it crapped out and locked up just doing an update..maybe I did something wrong IDK.

    I'd like to know as well...I ordered mine from vzw.com on Friday morning (ship by Jul 23). I haven't heard anything. I also ordered the car charger, not sure if an accessory would hold up the order.

    No Email.... I ordered mine on Thursday morning online and never got a shipping email. I called Monday morning to check and Customer Service said there was a back log and I should receive my X sometime this week, by Friday for sure.... got home Monday night and there was the Fed Ex box!!! Still no shipping info but who cares! I got my phone...

    My order was placed on VZW at 7:38 EDT on Friday (ship by 7/23) with accessories (car charger and car dock). I went for second day shipping (free). It would be really nice to get it this week... :rolleyes:

    I purchased online Friday 7-16-10 after calling around every possible Verizon store in the area....everyone was out the day after it launched. :( Now reading this thread I have no idea when it will be here.

    Do you have to sign for the phone when delivered? If so, does it have to be the person that ordered it? My girlfriend will be home all day while I am at work.

    I just got off the phone with the CSR supervisor (after I was switched from Telesales to Customer Service). I was livid. I told her folks that had placed orders on Saturday already had tracking information on their phone and that my replacement order done on Friday afternoon still showed nothing. She called Sales and then was seeing my order. She said it was a distribution problems. They have no phones to ship.

    She also said she highly doubted anybody that ordered on Saturday had one enroute. I asked her if she could look at the distribution centers to see if ANY were available ANYWHERE. She said she was looking at my distribution center (in the South it is Memphis) and they have no phones to ship. I guess if somebody ordered in another part of the country maybe the distribution center that serves that area could have shipped a phone ordered on Saturday.

    She said she was going to check with the manager over Sales and either he or she would definitely call me back. She didn't (or couldn't) even give me a date for when my phone would ship.

    Folks, the only way I see this problem being resolved is if Motorola comes to the rescue and ships Verizon ENOUGH phones to get the backlog taken care of. It has become painfully obvious Verizon is clueless at how to handle situations where they have few or no phones available to ship.

    For the life of me, I can't believe Verizon has screwed up another smartphone release. Didn't they learn anything from the HTC Incredible Droid fiasco? I guess not.

    Hurry up Motorola and rescue all of us who have no phones from our misery....and from our daily dealings with Verizon.

    I can't believe this either. When I went into the Verizon store the day after release they basically laughed at me that I wanted to buy an X. I was pretty pissed, then they tried to smooth talk me into an Incredible some stupid girl spouted out specs about it that were all wrong trying to get me to buy it. And to top it off they hand me an Incredible and Droid X dummy phone to sway my decision. Ha! I said "so advertise the phone, then you go to get it and can't....is this was going to be the way all the new Droid phones were going to be released"...the guy said pretty much.

    I ordered my phone in my local VZW store on Friday (southwest PA), and received an e-mail with the tracking info yesterday, saying it shipped from Memphis. Maybe they only shipped the accessories to me, but the package requires a signature, which they normally don't do for accessories.

    I hate to say it, but I believe this may be the cause of why stock is low in you area. You might recall, if you were following the "I just ordered my X" thread that several people managed to log into the VZW page where you could add the X to your cart by using Zipcodes that may have not even been their own.

    I for one actually used the famous/infamous 90210 zip but actually live in Northern VA. After not receiving any shipping confirmation for a day, I called and was told they had an issue locating the package because it had shipped out of the CA distribution center, one that is obviously not even close to my home.

    Anyways I get the feeling VZW will be restocking this bad boy pretty quickly, to keep infuriated Incredible customers at bay and those who missed out on the first X shipment.

    Hey, I'm in NoVa as well...my order was 11:30AM EDT, chose 2nd day shipping as well. Hopefully we'll get at least a notification soon...although it seems like people are getting their phones without any notification.

    They absolutely refuse to even give me a tracking number. It was ordered the 15th, but they. say it was the 16th. First they said it would ship the 23rd, now the 27th. I am so mad. Everyday I get a different answer. No idea if I'm even got a valI'd order. CS is hateful everytime Icall as well.

    I always am shocked when I read posts like these, because every instance of customer service I've ever spoken with has been highly accommodating. If this is truly the case, ask to speak to a supervisor as soon as the agent answers your call. Explain to them first of the issues you've had with CS previously, and than to give you any and all information they have about your order.

    I ordered Saturday morning around 10:00 AM EST and checked this morning and am still on the list of customers receiving theirs by the 27th. However, the girl said they were probably going to ship them out by the end of this week. I've learned not to listen to any assumptions from Verizon CSR's but am still hopeful that this is the case.

    FYI, all Droid X's ordered from here on out will be shipped by August 3 (no longer July 27) according to the website.

    I saw that. Friday it was 23rd, Monday 27th, Tuesday 8/3.

    Here we go again. I just hope I get my DX by the end of the week, though nobody I've talked to can give me any assurance on anything. They are clueless.

    I've learned one valuable lesson, I'll never order a new Android phone from Verizon again on release date. Just get me my replacement DX so I can move on and be done with this mess!

    Were you guys charged prior to the phone shipping? I order in store on Friday and was told a ship date by 7/23 however I was charged on the 16th.

    I thought it was common to not charge prior to ship.

    Yes, my credit card was charged and already showing against my available balance on 7/15/2010 when I checked it Thursday afternoon. I ordered my DX at 12:45 a.m. 7/15/2010. Received the DX on Friday at 12:30 p.m., but it died within 15 minutes. Ordered replacement 7/16/2010 and it was confirmed with an email at 3:32 p.m.

    To update my previous post in this thread, I did receive a call back from the CSR Supervisor about 30 minutes ago. That was kind of shocking in and of itself. She wanted to let me know that my order status had changed. It was still on hold when I talked to her at 9:00 a.m. this morning since the distribution center in Memphis had no stock. But the order now has been processed and released. No shipping information is available yet she told me, but she said she would keep me updated.

    I guess this is good and stock from Moto is on the way. At least I hope so. I'm tired of reading about what everyone is doing with their new Droid X. I want to join the fun, but have no phone yet.
