Hello. I am hoping someone here will be able to assist me with a problem I've been encountering with my HTC Hero. When I plug it in to the USB port, the computer doesn't recognize the device. I've tested the USB ports with various other devices and it recognizes all of them but the Hero. I did get it to sync briefly and begin the upgrade to 2.1, but then it disconnected again after only being synched for a minute or so.

I've restarted everything, and I do have the USB debugging enabled. I've scoured the web and forums looking for a solution and just can't find one. I'm running XP, SP3.

    Any suggestions?

The operating system doesn't recognize the USB device (phone), or HTC Sync application doesn't recognize the phone?

Does the phone detect that it's connected to a PC? What happens if you "start USB storage" on your phone?
